About Patrick

Patrick began his application development career by writing a C++ application which took Morse Code input via a joystick and converted those characters into ASCII text as well as programming unique keyboard input codes for physically challenged individuals that could not type on a regular keyboard. This project was a major success and he has since learned many of the major scripting and object oriented languages with his favorite programming being consuming API's and integrating applications - making systems communicate with one-another.

However, Patrick was hooked on computers when he was four years old, his first experience was with a PC Junior. In 2001 he entered The Great Computer Challenge and won 3rd place with his submitted project. While attending college, Patrick worked as a system network administrator and quickly learned that he preferred writing software applications and developing websites versus hardware management. "It was really cool to write code in notepad that would change what is on the computer screen", and with this he began his career in software application development.

Patrick first attended Old Dominion University in 2001-2003 seeking a B.S. in Computer Science with a Minor in Mathematics, then continued his studies at Virginia Tech from 2003-2004, finishing his Bachelor's degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005 graduating Magna Cum Laude with Dean's List honors.

Patrick joined Reibsamen Corporation as a partner in 2012, with a commitment to providing application and software development excellence to both small and large businesses. In 2015, Patrick was vital in helping Reibsamen Corporation become Shift One Labs. Patrick specializes in open source development and continues to expand his knowledge in new technologies along with ever changing current technologies and programming languages.
